Introduction
FlashMind is an AI-powered learning companion operated at https://flashmind.app. We collect only the information needed to provide authentication, uploads, flashcards, quizzes, Today's Revision, AI Study Tools, progress tracking, subscriptions, and customer support. FlashMind does not sell personal data.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use FlashMind, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and authentication information.
- Study materials you upload and derived document text.
- Learning data generated through flashcards, quizzes, and Today's Revision.
- AI-generated content created from your uploaded materials.
- Subscription and entitlement information.
- Device, app, and technical information needed to operate and secure the service.
Authentication
FlashMind uses Supabase Auth to manage account sign-in. You may create an account with email and password or sign in with Google. We collect the account identifiers and authentication data needed to verify your identity, secure your account, and sync your learning progress across devices.
Learning Data
When you use FlashMind, we process learning data needed to provide the app, including:
- Flashcard deck progress, recall ratings, intervals, and next review dates.
- Quiz attempts, scores, accuracy, missed questions, and weak-topic indicators.
- Today's Revision task queues, completions, daily goal progress, and revision history.
- Learning score (XP), levels, streaks, timezone, and study activity records.
- Locally cached revision tasks, flashcard decks, and quizzes for offline study.
Learning score and streak calculations are computed server-side. Pending offline activity may be queued locally and synced when connectivity returns.
AI-Generated Content
FlashMind Pro AI Study Tools process uploaded document content server-side using OpenAI models through Supabase Edge Functions. This includes summaries, flashcards, quizzes, mind maps, quiz explanations, and AI Learning Coach responses. Document text may be extracted, chunked, and embedded for retrieval-augmented coaching tied to your uploaded materials.
AI output is generated from your materials and should be reviewed by you. FlashMind does not guarantee factual accuracy for all generated content.
Subscription Data
FlashMind Pro subscriptions and lifetime purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. FlashMind does not collect or store payment card numbers, billing addresses, or full payment credentials. We receive entitlement and subscription status information needed to unlock FlashMind Pro features and restore purchases across devices linked to your account.
RevenueCat
FlashMind uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and validate FlashMind Pro entitlements across iOS and Android. RevenueCat receives purchase and entitlement data from Apple and Google and provides subscription status to FlashMind so FlashMind Pro features can be enabled on your account.
Google Play Billing and Apple App Store
Purchases on Android are handled by Google Play Billing. Purchases on iOS are handled by the Apple App Store. Payment processing, receipts, renewals, cancellations, and refund eligibility are governed by the applicable store and its policies. FlashMind receives only the information needed to confirm purchase status and entitlement access.
Supabase
FlashMind uses Supabase for authentication, PostgreSQL database storage, file storage, edge functions, realtime sync, and backend infrastructure. Account data, uploaded materials, learning progress, and related app data are stored and processed through Supabase services needed to operate FlashMind.
OpenAI
FlashMind Pro AI Study Tools send relevant uploaded document content and prompts to OpenAI models through Supabase Edge Functions to generate summaries, flashcards, quizzes, mind maps, explanations, and AI Learning Coach responses. We use this processing to deliver AI features tied to your study materials.
Third-Party Services
FlashMind uses service providers that process data on our behalf, including:
- Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and edge functions.
- OpenAI for AI Study Tools processing.
- RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management.
- Apple App Store and Google Play Billing for purchases.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.
These providers are used only as needed to operate FlashMind and are subject to their own privacy practices.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
The FlashMind mobile app does not use browser cookies in the same way a website does. This marketing website may use standard server logs and basic analytics technologies operated by our hosting provider to deliver pages securely and measure site performance. The FlashMind app may use local device storage, secure storage, and cached data to support offline study and account sessions.
Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide FlashMind, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you request account deletion, we delete or de-identify personal data from FlashMind systems subject to this policy and applicable law. Some records may be retained where required for legal, security, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including secure authentication, access controls, encrypted transport where supported, and server-side validation of learning score and subscription entitlements. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing where applicable law provides those rights.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting prior lawful processing.

Children's Privacy
FlashMind is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data to FlashMind, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to review and delete the information where required.
Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data. Account deletion removes study materials, progress, and profile data from FlashMind systems, subject to this policy and applicable law. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or by other appropriate means. Continued use of FlashMind after an update means you accept the revised policy.
